YEAR 7 FRENCH EXCURSION: The House of Dior Seventy Years of Haute Couture

On Friday the 20th of October, EMS Year 7 French students attended an exciting excursion to the NGV: The House of Dior exhibition. A forty minute introductory talk at the start of the excursion introduced students to the glamorous designs of Christian Dior and how he pioneered a revolutionary new era of fashion and femininity post WW II. Key themes were discussed, as well as the contribution of Dior to the world of fashion. Following the introductory talk, students had an hour to explore the exhibition which displayed a sumptuous collection of more than 140 garments designed by Christian Dior Couture between 1947 and 2017.
